Join Us

The lab welcomes postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduates. Find links to affiliate programs below, or please write directly to Eric Miska. A formal application should include a full CV and the names and contact details of at least two scientific referees.

Postdoctoral fellows

If you are interested in joining our laboratory as a postdoctoral fellow, please write directly to Eric Miska. A formal application should include a full CV and the names and contact details of at least two scientific referees. It would also be helpful to include a description of your research interests in the form of a short project proposal. We may be able to provide funding for postdoctoral fellows, but we expect that postdocs also seek their own funding for their tenure in the laboratory.

PhD students

We participate in programs associated with the University of Cambridge, including the M.Phil in Developmental Biology program, and CRUK MRes – PhD Studentships program. If you are interested in these exciting options, you should apply directly to the programs. We also host PhD students as part of the Department of Biochemistry PhD program. If you are interested in pursuing a PhD degree in our laboratory, please write directly to Eric Miska with a full CV and the names andcontact details of two referees. You should also fill in the online application form of the Department. Applications are welcome at any time, but if you require funding there are certain deadlines. Also, sadly, some funding is restricted to UK or EU residents. Ideally, if you would like to start your PhD in October, you should send your application by the end of the previous year.

Undergraduate students

We offer part II and part III projects for undergraduates of the University of Cambridge. We also offer final year or master projects for, e. g. the German “Diplom”. We may also be able to offer summer internships. A popular choice in recent years has been the Amgen Scholars Programme. All enquiries should be sent directly to Eric Miska and should be accompanied by a full CV and the names and contact details of at least two referees.
